Top Performance By Emerging Market Hedge Funds

The HFRI Emerging Markets (Total) Index rose 9.3 percent through October, industry tracker Hedge Fund Research said on Friday. The index increase reflects the fact that hedge funds that invested in Russia, Latin America, the Middle East, growing Asian economies, and other emerging markets, have outperformed all other hedge funds so far this year.

“Emerging markets hedge funds offering more strategic exposure… and local-market specialization are likely to appeal to investors as the EU sovereign credit crisis continues,” Hedge Fund Research President Kenneth Heinz stated.

However, the group cautioned that the amount of money being invested in emerging markets hedge funds is slowing down.
