SAC Capital Makes Several New Additions

SAC Capital, owned by Steve Cohen, one of the best known hedge fund managers in the world, has recently made some new additions to strengthen its equity l/s portfolio management team. According to AsianInvestor, the firm has hired a number of employees from Hong Kong.

Shantanu Nagpal, formerly of Brevan Howard, has recently joined the hedge fund. He has been working as a portfolio manager only since 2010. Frank Ho, another portfolio manager, joined SAC from Highbridge Asia, while Joyce Ho also joined in a business development position.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg reported a one-day paper loss of nearly $196 million in Dendreon Corp, the Seattle-based drug maker.
