Stanley Ku Launches New Asian Hedge Fund

May 31, 2011 James Heinsman Hedge Fund News

Stanley Ku, former Hong Kong head for Fortress Investment Group, is launching his second attempt in the Asian hedge fund industry by opening Complus Asset Management. His last firm, Minerva Capital Management, shut down last year.

Financial conditions are improving in the region following the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis, and Ku is one of the many high profile fund managers who received an asset management license in Hong Kong during the last few weeks. Ching Kam, former executive at Alphadyne Asset Management, has joined Ku at Complus.

Ku has many years of experience as a hedge fund manager in Asia. A former Goldman Sachs executive, Ku founded the Minerva Capital Management in 2009, as well as the Hong Kong office of Fortress in 2008.
