Though many hedge funds struggled throughout 2011, some managed to end the year with significant returns.

The ten best-performing hedge funds of 2011, according to Bloomberg Markets Magazine, are:

  • Tiger Global, with a return of 45%
  • Renaissance, with a return of 33.1%
  • Pure Alpha II, with a return of 23.5%
  • Discus, with a return of 20.9%
  • Providence, with a return of 20.6%
  • Oculus, with a return of 19%
  • All Weather, with a return of 17.8%
  • Dymon Asia, with a return of 17.8%
  • Citadel, with a return of 17.7%
  • Coatue, with a return of 16.9%
